The Company of Animals Scoops Pet Innovation Award at GLEE

Oct 13, 2008

The UK's leading specialist in dog behaviour and training products, The Company of Animals, is delighted to announce that it scooped the 'Pet Innovation' award for its new range of interactive games for dogs. The GLEE industry awards were staged at the Hilton Metropole hotel in Birmingham on Monday 22nd September.

Designed by Nina Ottosson, these canine puzzles are as visually stimulating to dog owners as they are mentally stimulating for their pets and are set to take the market by storm this Christmas.

Pet retailers understand that pet owners buy Christmas gifts as Santa Paws for their pets. High street retailer, Argos, recently revealed that 60% of pet owners buy Christmas presents for the pets and the Blue Cross puts the annual overall average Christmas spend by pet owners at £100 million.

Suitable for all breeds and sizes of dogs, Nina Ottosson activity games are creatively styled in funky colours and 'stand out from the crowd' packaging. They have been designed to stimulate a dog's brain whilst reinforcing his relationship with people. The range includes four styles of canine brain-teaser including 'Dog Magic', 'Dog Brick', 'Dog Tornado' and the 'Dog Spinny'.

Each design has a unique mechanism that requires mental as well as physical dexterity to work through the challenges and reveal hidden food rewards. They can be set to differing levels of complexity; so whether you have a 'Forrest Gump' or an 'Albert Einstein', there is a Nina Ottosson game design to suit every dog!

Nina Ottosson's dog games are interactive for both dog and owner, allowing owners to become involved and practice the puzzles with their dog. The range offers the perfect solution to counter symptoms of 'bored' disruptive behaviours in dogs such as barking or chewing.

Dr. Roger Mugford, renowned Animal Psychologist and founder of The Company of Animals enthused:

'There's more to a dog thank just keeping his body fit. Mental stimulation in partnership with an attentive owner makes a massive contribution to dog welfare, and it is fun too! Nina Ottosson's puzzles for dogs are some of the most unique dog toys ever created. We are delighted to have won the Pet Innovation Award and are sure that retailers, owners and their dogs will enjoy having fun with their dog."

The Nina Ottosson Interactive Game range from The Company of Animals retails from £19.99.
